  1.                USING MARKS FOR FASTER EDITING

  4.      Marks are a method for quickly editing several outline
  5. elements at one time.  In order to use them effectively, you
  6. will need to understand six operations.
  7.  
  8.  A. To Mark an element,
  9.     position the cursor anywhere in the element to mark and
  10.     choose Mark/Unmark Outline Entry from the Outline, or use
  11.     the F2 quick key combination.  A marked element will have
  12.     its numbering highlighted.  Try marking this element.
  13.  
  14.  B. To Unmark an element,
  15.     postion the cursor in a marked element and use the F2 key.
  16.     Note that this acts as a toggle between Mark and Unmark.
  17.     Mark this element, then unmark it.

  19.  C. To Copy marked elements to a new location,
  20.     Move the cursor to the element above and on the same level
  21.     as the location you want all marked elements copied to and
  22.     choose Copy Marks from the Outline Menu or the F9 Key. Try
  23.     this function below.

  25.     1. Mark and Copy this element
  26.     2. And Copy this element
  27.     3. Below this element

  29.  D. To Move marked elements to a new location,
  30.     Move the cursor to the element above and on the same level
  31.     as the location you want all marked elements copied to and
  32.     choose Move Marks from the Outline Menu or the F10 Key. Try
  33.     this function below.

  35.     1. Mark and Move this element
  36.     2. And Move this element
  37.     3. Below this element

  39.  E. To Indent marked elements,
  40.     choose Indent Marks from the Outline Menu or the F7 Key.
  41.     All but the first element on a level will be indented to a
  42.     lower level.  Try this function below .

  44.     1. You cannot indent this element
  45.     2. But you can indent this element
  46.     3. And you can this element
  47.  
  48.  F. To promote marked elements,
  49.     choose Promote Marks from the Outline Menu or the F8 Key.
  50.     Only the last element(s) on a level will be promoted to a
  51.     higher level.  Try this function below.

  53.     1. If you marked this element
  54.     2. but not this element
  55.     3. and marked this element
  56.        Then only the third element would be promoted.
